Getting Started
Getting started with WhereMoneyGo in less than 5 minutes.
Connect your bank accounts
The first thing you'll need to do is connect your bank accounts.
Simple head to app.wheremoneygo.com. You'll be asked to sign-in with Google, and then you'll see a Connect new account button under My accounts
Simply click Connect new account and then follow the steps in order to link a new one. You'll need to do this for every account you want us to track. To keep your data secure we use a third-party service called Plaid that is responsible for the actual connection to the banks.
Set up your spreadsheets
You can head over to sheets.new to create a new Google Spreadsheet.
Once the spreadsheet is created you'll need to share it with our service so we can update it. Click the Share button in the top right, and add our account sheets@wheremoneygo.iam.gserviceaccount.com as an Editor.
Once that's done, copy the link to your spreadsheet (the share page should have a Copy link button) or you can grab it from your browser, and go back to app.wheremoneygo.com. Simply paste the link in the Spreadsheet URL field and we'll save it to your account.
Start the magic
Finally the last box on the app.wheremoneygo.com page allows you to manually start an update of your sheet. We'll automatically do this once a day, but to see results immediately hit the Update button.
You should see a running log of what we're working on, and then finally Sheet update completed once it's done. When you see that you can pop back to your actual spreadsheet and you'll see we've filled it with your transaction data as well as a couple of new worksheets.
To understand what each of the worksheets to, check out our Worksheets documentation page.
If anything goes wrong just send us an email at help@wheremoneygo.com and we'll get you up and running.
